Travertine or Marble?

What the difference between travertine and marble?

This is the most asked question on our web-page. That's why I decided to satisfy your curiosity and save you from this dilemma.
Travertine and Marble both of them are Natural and very durable stones. Unlike from granite and quartz, those are a soft stone and we can cut out any shape we want. When a customer hears "soft stone" it is often misunderstood, but I would like to remind you that one of the largest and oldest buildings in the world, the Colosseum is covered with travertine, and the fact that it has survived to this day indicates the sustainability of this material.

These two stones were formed under the influence of pressure and high temperature, which in itself means that they can withstand high temperatures and pressures. Travertine tile, more durable than marble. On the Moss scale, the travertine is between 4 and 5 and the marble is between 3 and 4.
Their surface is also different. Travertine is a porous stone. But there is, processed, filled and polished travertine, which at first glance may even look like marble.

Marble, ranging from gray is available in, beige, gold, dark brown and even black color.
Travertine is found in warmer, Mediterranean, land colors that are closer to nature. Such colors are soothing, giving a person a feeling of warmth and coziness.
Unlike some natural stone these two stones are environmentally friendly. Marble radiation fits within the allowable norms, while travertine is much lower than the permissible norm.

I hope I have answered all your questions thoroughly, clearly showing the difference between these two stones and making the choice easier for you. But if you still have an unanswered question, write to us and we will definitely answer it.
